I need people who are willing to read a memoir-in-manuscript and offer suggestions for improvement. The memoir is about growing up as a military brat in the sixties and seventies, but the central focus is my stepfather's disappearance -- a mystery that has never been solved.

Thanks for the replies so soon!
First, I'm afraid I can't offer any money -- but I can reciprocate as a reader if you're also a writer with a manuscript you'd like feedback on.
The entire manuscript is 94,000 words -- it would probably come to 350 pages if printed.... but I'd be happy to have responses to an excerpt, and would be appreciative of an honest "couldn't get past the first ten pages"...
As for timeframe, I'm waiting to hear back from an agent, but they take forever; I've got no deadlines, really -- just aspirations!
And no specific feedback: just a reader's gut reaction, and anything else you're up for: what should go, what you like best, and so forth.Posted on 7/22/2008
